History Is Only the Beginning at
The Kennedy-Warren Apartments
The Kennedy-Warren is one of the world’s most outstanding examples of Aztec Art Deco apartment architecture. It’s only fitting that the building itself resides at the top of the list of Washington DC luxury apartments. Preserving the integrity of this historic landmark has been the guiding principle in the meticulous creation of The Kennedy-Warren’s new South Wing, where residences of distinction are now available for lease.
Each detail in the new South Wing was carefully researched and crafted to match the distinctive beauty of the Historic Wing’s Art Deco apartments. The multi-colored speckling of the original bricks was recreated perfectly after a long process of extensive experimentation. The six-foot griffins destroyed by lightning in the 1960s have been recast and replaced in their original locations. Furthermore, the majestic aluminum accents that made interior design history in the 1930s have been duplicated for the exterior and interior of the grand new wing.
During the building’s long history, the prominence of The Kennedy-Warren has attracted many great Washington personalities. Over the years, this registered Historic Landmark has housed such luminaries as President Lyndon Johnson, historian James Goode, author P.J. O’Rourke, congressmen, senators and more than 30 generals and admirals.
For a residence overflowing with historical significance, The Kennedy-Warren’s brand new apartments in the new South Wing promise a future of equal grandeur. No matter which Kennedy Warren apartment you choose, you can be sure that you’ll be adding to The Kennedy-Warren’s distinguished lineage.
